BLOG BREAK Traffic Lights and Political Frights

Nick Cross presents his fortnightly selection of must-read blogs.

Most bloggers probably think no-one notices when they don't blog for a long time, but I do! So it's great to welcome back Mel Green, who has been AWOL for a while fighting a battle with confidence and motivation. I know how you feel, Mel!

Addy Farmer's having a funny turn over at Notes from the Slushpile. But don't call the doctor, Addy is simply asking the question: Can We Learn to Write Funny?

Sarah Broadley has a set of traffic lights in her head. Again, no need for medical assistance - Sarah uses them to judge the readiness of her latest manuscript.

Words: To count or not to count? Jo Franklin discusses the pros and cons in her post for An Awfully Big Blog Adventure.

As a writer, I often worry about how real life events will affect the impact (and appeal) of my work. Tracey Mathias had a similar fear about her UK debut novel Night of the Party, but it turns out that the huge political shifts of the last couple of years have made it even more relevant!

Nick.

No comments:

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
