EVENTS Submission letters: the dos and don'ts

Want to learn how to write a killer submission letter? Come to the next London Industry Insiders on 6th September and get tips from a true professional, Felicity Trew.

You've completed your manuscript and now it's time to send it out into the world. But how do you make sure that your story makes it to the top of the slushpile?

The submission letter is the first piece of your writing that an agent will see and getting it right can be make or break.

This workshop will give an industry insider's perspective on the submissions process. Felicity Trew of the Caroline Sheldon Agency will be running a fun, inspiring and practical workshop on writing a great submission letter that will make any agent want to read your manuscript.

Felicity's workshop will be fun and inspiring.

From dissecting the DNA of the perfect letter to analysing examples of the good, the bad and the ugly, this session will help you perfect the tricky art of pitching you and your work.

What's more, if you are going to the SCBWI Agents' Party, this workshop will help you hone your pitch.

This event is fully booked, but there is a waiting list.

Where: Room 106, City Lit, Keeley Street.
When: Doors open 6.30 pm, workshop starts at 7pm, Thursday 6th September 2018.
How much: Tickets cost £12 for SCBWI members.

To get a place on the waiting list, contact Tania at london@britishscbwi.org.

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
