Today is the deadline, but there's still just enough time to submit....!

SCBWI's illustrator's Advent is a fun annual activity that attracts enormous interest.

Following the success of our 6 previous, wonderful calendars (with over 280 outstanding juried images), we are of course keen to repeat the event, and especially more so this year when all face to face events have been cancelled.
So if you have a seasonal image that wouldn't look out of place in a book for children, or young adults, then please email a j-peg to organiser Paul Morton on this email address

The theme this year is WINTER CELEBRATION. Please feel free to enter more than one illustration.

Please ensure that the resolution is around 300 ppi, either way up.

The final selection of 25 images chosen by members of our illustrator committee will appear on the SCBWI British Isles social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) daily throughout December up to Christmas Day.

And we love writer members to micro Tweet each day's chosen image!

Paul Morton runs HotFrog Graphics and is a long-standing volunteer with SCBWI's illustration team. His book Bugbelly: Babysitting Trouble was released by Five Quills earlier this year. Instagram Twitter

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
