BLOG BREAK Good Books and Bad People

Nick Cross presents his fortnightly selection of must-read SCBWI-BI member blogs.

I firmly believe that everyone who has gone through the massive effort to write/illustrate a book and publish it should be celebrated. They have poured their heart and soul into a lasting work for others to enjoy, and deserve praise, not mockery. On the other hand, I found Pete Frederick's blog post about bizarre self-published children's books totally hilarious! Does that make me a bad person?

Someone who is definitely a good person is Leisa Stewart-Sharpe, who is blogging at My Book Corner to introduce her environmental non-fiction book What A Wonderful World.

Ruth Estevez has a new book out too, called The Monster Belt. It had a more unusual journey to publication than normal, which Ruth talks us through in her blog post.

Here's Sarah Broadley chatting to Bruna De Luca about the inspiration behind her new picture book I'm Not Cute, I'm Dangerous!

Finally, do you idly dream of your writing gaining the royal seal of approval? Well, Clare Helen Welsh doesn't need to dream any longer, because it actually happened.

Nick.

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
