With the summer season upon us, let's take a look at what our SCBWI members have to celebrate...

Congratulations to Marie Basting who will be celebrating the release of her MG novel Auntie Medusa and Me on the1st August. Published by Chicken House, this is a sequel to My Family and Other Romans but stands alone. Read on to take a look at the blurb:

Hiya! I’m Silvia, an ordinary kid just like you.

At least, I was ordinary until I wound up in Ancient Rome as a demi-goddess. Yeah, that took me by surprise too.

But seriously, travelling back in time is nothing compared to what’s happening now: Medusa the gorgon wants her head back – and she’s chosen me to find it!

A laugh-out-loud, time-travel adventure for fans of Loki, packed full of Greco-Roman mythology.

Out on 1st August, this is Marie's third novel with Chicken House

Congratulations to Bryony Pearce who is celebrating the launch of Hannah Messenger and the Gods of Hockwold, published by UCLan on 6th June. This is Bryony's debut MG novel and is 'an urban fantasy story about learning that real power is in the friendships you make':

The Gods of Olympus and their descendants have lost their memories. They think they are ordinary humans. Only Hannah Messenger and her friends know who they really are. And that means when the God’s objects of power start to go missing, only Hannah and her friends can stop the thief.

Have you got good news to share? A new book? An offer of agent representation? An award? Don't be shy! Why not send an email over to production@britishscbwi.org together with a picture and any links so we can celebrate with you.

No comments:

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
