Rashmi Sirdeshpande has clearly been very busy. Not just with her own writing, but also producing an epic post detailing 10 Productivity Hacks for Writers. It's such a great article that it even inspired Jennifer Moore to come up with her own, rather less practical technique for time management (warning, may cause your house to burn down).
I love illustration blog posts, but don't see enough of them. Take note SCBWI-BI illustrators! This week though, Paeony Lewis has written a terrific post all about how picture book illustrators depict the sea, packed full of information on illustration techniques.
Now, here's a blog that's practical and well-written, and will be useful for a lot of people. But it's also one of those posts that I dearly wish wasn't needed. Juliet Clare Bell is on Universal Credits, which requires her to earn a certain amount of money to remain a freelancer. Her post for Picture Book Den has lots of good ideas for how she can increase her steady income and stay above the earnings threshold.
Setting out to get published is a confusing journey, especially given the variety of routes to market that are available nowadays. BB Taylor has written a level-headed and very useful post about The Many Paths to Publication, to help you choose the one that's right for you.
Vanessa Harbour and her editor Janet Thomas were longlisted for the Branford Boase award this month. In her blog post, Vanessa reflects on the prize and what it means to be recognised as a debut author.
