I loved Elizabeth Wein's post (for Elizabeth Dulemba's blog), all about the making of her latest YA non-fiction book A Thousand Sisters. Who knew about the heroic Soviet airwomen of WWII? Well, hopefully, a lot more of us now Elizabeth's book has been published!
If you were reading the SCBWI-BI Facebook group during December, you may have spotted some of the great writing tips that BB Taylor was posting. She's compiled them all into one useful blog post: Random Tips for 2019.
How has writing advice changed over the years? Not so much as you might think, as Catherine Rosevear takes a fun journey into a 1913 guide to writing successful screenplays.
As a visiting writer, Rowena House is preparing to teach creative writing in schools and colleges. Her post for An Awfully Big Blog Adventure sifts through the often conflicting advice, as Rowena tries to find the right teaching style for both her and her students.
Every year, I give a plug for International Book Giving Day, which is run by SCBWI-BI member Emma Perry. And this year is no exception! Catherine Friess reminds us what it's all about in a post for her excellent Story Snug blog.
