BLOG BREAK Research, Regrets and Revisiting

Nick Cross presents his fortnightly selection of must-read blogs.

Voting for the SCBWI-BI Crystal Kite Award has now closed so I won't be influencing the process if I include Tracey Mathias's post in this Blog Break. Tracey expresses her delight about Night of the Party being on the shortlist and talks about what SCBWI means to her.

I'm always looking for more illustration bloggers, so I was delighted to spot Kelley Donner's latest post. Find out how Kelley transformed a drab stairwell at Oaks International School in Cambridge with a huge mural of an oak tree.

Vanessa Harbour has started a new book - hooray! But it's a story that needs a lot of research - read her illuminating words on how she manages the research, planning and first draft process.

Meanwhile, Catherine Rosevear is revisiting an old book, one that she started writing when she was ten years old! How does Time's Progress compare to her later work? Find out in Catherine's post.

Despite Alex English's blog post title, you won't tire of reading her post about trying an intriguing writing technique called Exhausting a Place.

All-round excellent person, Kate Mallinder has just launched her debut novel Summer of No Regrets. Here Zoe Cookson interviews her and talks about her writing life for Madge Eekal Reviews.

No comments:

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
