FROM YOUR EDITOR Teamwork!
Listen – I want to have a word with you readers.
You know how during festive times like this you think about all the people who are close to you, people who are there when you need them and who you would always be happy to help? Well, in that spirit, I want to give a shout-out to the fabulous team here at Words & Pictures.
This brilliant collection of SCBWI-BI volunteers put together features about the craft and business of creating children’s books every week of the year, except for December (have you been missing us?).
You can find out about the whole team here.
It’s a big team, but it needs to be. The thing about volunteering is that it has to fit around all the things you do in the rest of your life. You have something to give, but it can’t take over. That’s why, as editor, I try to make sure each of my team has a manageable amount of work to do. They’re all brilliantly supportive of each other too, so if someone’s on holiday or has to step away for a while, there’s always someone else willing to step in and cover for them.
And on top of our core team are all the fantastic contributors who have written, interviewed, illustrated and reported for us. We couldn’t do it without you!
So raise a glass with me to your Words & Pictures team! Here’s to another fabulous year!

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
