BLOG BREAK Ideas and Illustrators
Nick Cross presents his fortnightly selection of must-read SCBWI-BI member blogs.
Had any ideas recently? Well, I guarantee you haven't had as many as John Condon, who is telling Rachael Davis all about how he came up with 750 picture book ideas!
Someone else who's had a LOT of ideas is Jill Atkins, with over 150 books published to date. And yet she's never managed to see one of her picture book titles in print, until now! Jill talks to Picture Book Den about the books that have inspired her along the way.
Anyone who feels stuck in their process will be cheered by Claire Fayers' post for an Awfully Big Blog Adventure. It turns out that a pantser really can become a plotter without losing their will to write.
It's been a delight to see author/illustrator Paul Morton getting into print with his Bug Belly series. As the second book in the series is released, Paul talks to Catherine Friess about his journey, with a particular focus on the role of SCBWI in his success.
Every time I look at Jenny Moore's site, she seems to have another book out. How is she doing it? In her latest blog post, she gives full credit to the wonderful illustrators who make her words stand out on the shelf.
Nick.

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
