BLOG BREAK Side Projects and Surprises

Nick Cross presents his selection of must-read SCBWI-BI member blogs.

Clare Helen Welsh is using her Picture Book Den blog post as a kind of personal organiser. Luckily for us, what she's organising is her links to 35 super-useful websites for picture book creators.

Pete Frederick appears slightly surprised to find that he's self-published a book! His blog post is a great look at the process he took, and why self-publishing was the right route for this particular story.

Sometimes, that little side project you started up can go places you never imagined. Here's Emma Perry describing how launching My Book Corner in 2011 led to life-changing adventures, and why it's time for a change.

Finally, Lu Hersey is finding readers for her YA novel in unusual places, as she recounts in her blog post for An Awfully Big Blog Adventure.

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
