CELEBRATIONS March 2025 (part 2)
Spring has arrived and, for some of our SCBWI members, so has some good news...
Congratulations to Susan Baker. Susan heard in January that her YA novel, Calm, (published in September 2024) has been given a Kirkus starred review. Susan will now be celebrating its publication in the US and RoW on 22nd April 2025!
Susan says, "Alongside writing, I'm also an English teacher. Since Calm was published I have thoroughly enjoyed speaking with students about my writing as well as visiting other schools as an author."

Double congratulations are also in order for Sabrina Shah. Sabrina recently signed with agent Katie Blagden and her middle grade novel is about to go on submission. We wish you every success with it, Sabrina.
Sabrina is celebrating signing with Katie Blagden and the publication of her picture book.
Sabrina also has a picture book out in May. Music of the Mountains: A Story In Pakistan, illustrated by Manal Mirza and publishing with Barefoot Books Ltd, is described by Kirkus Reviews as, "A moving exploration of the delicate balance between preserving tradition and acknowledging individual efforts."
