EVENTS Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2025

Illustrator Coordinator Tita Berredo was in Italy representing SCBWI British Isles at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and covered the whole event in an insightful video!

This year at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, SCBWI turned their space into a lively center of creativity and professional growth. Illustrators had the chance to receive free portfolio reviews from publishing experts, including art directors and literary agents, while writers pitched their story ideas to top editors for potential breakthroughs. Panels featured inspiring discussions about career building for illustrators, and workshops at the Illustrator Survival Corner offered hands-on learning experiences.

Debut authors were celebrated during the Member Appreciation Hour, which also helped foster connections within the community. The Duelling Illustrators event added a competitive (but friendly) thrill. Artists Tita Berredo and TeMika Groom’s immersed themselves in live drawing, showcasing quick skills, unlimited creativity, and immense artistic talent. SCBWI’s dynamic presence left a lasting impact, turning the fair into an unforgettable celebration of children’s book creators.

To celebrate the ending of another successful year as the BCBF, SCBWI members were treated to an exclusive industry party at a local bookstore, combining networking opportunities with some good food, music, and a lot of dancing!

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
