Success for Suzie Wilde

By Charlotte Comley

If you haven't heard of UNBOUND, you would be wise to check it out! Submitting to them certainly helped Suzie Wilde.
Suzie writes;

After the success of The Wake (Bookseller book of the year 2014) published by UNBOUND, I decided to submit to them. I loved the innovative mix of traditional publishing and crowd funding. I don't have the energy or skill to do the whole self-publishing thing, especially as my artistic side wants a beautiful edition as well as a professionally edited debut novel. I'm lucky enough to have not only been accepted, but am being editied by Liz Garner, daughter of my hero Alan Garner.

I was fully-funded in just two months, a record for a first-time author with Unbound, and The Book of Bera will be published in 2016. It's YA/Crossover Viking thriller, with a fantasy element. I began researching and writing it in 2010 and have written several children's books before submitting this one. I wanted my debut to be the best I can do.

  1. Congratulations Suzie - getting funded so quickly that's really solid affirmation!

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
