Network News: KATE PANKHURST WORKSHOP 2ND APRIL – MANCHESTER CENTRAL LIBRARY

Kate Pankhurst, has illustrated for the likes of Judy Blume, Holly Webb and our own Steve Hartley. As if that's not enough, Kate brought her own creation, Mariella Mystery, to life by with her beautiful illustrations.
Clearly, she has an abundance of experience to share with both illustrators and writers, alike.
In this workshop, Kate will share her techniques for generating story ideas, share tips on 'interpreting'  text from the point of view of an illustrator (handy for any picture book and younger reader writers to be aware of too). Kate will also share some of experiences of preparing a story idea for pitching to agents/publishers.
Attendees will get the opportunity to see the development of Kate's illustrations from doodles to the published product. Kate is a big fan of doodling, so will be championing that relevant topic in relation to Chris Riddell's Laureateship.

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
