Name:  Angharad Kowal Stannus
Agency:  Kowal Stannus Agency
Genres represented:  Picture books, chapter books, fiction 8-12, 10+, young adult

Authors you represent and recent deals:
During my previous time at Simon & Schuster NY and Writers House, I represented a slew of children’s authors such as: Neil Gaiman, Susan Cooper, Sandra Boynton, Christopher Paolini, Rachel Renee Russell, Stephan Pastis, Francine Pascal, Ian Falconer, the Estate of Eric Carle, Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi, John Green, Scott Westerfeld, Judith Viorst, Jon Klassen, and Jennifer Donnelly, to name just a few.  My current children’s clients at KSA are Hannah Lee, Natalia and Lauren O’Hara, Nicola Senior, and Katie Weymouth.

What’s on your wishlist #MSWL?
#1 A great story
#2 A book that makes me feel something

What is your working style with clients (eg how editorial are you)?
I support my clients across all areas: editorial, publicity, marketing, social media, rights, etc.  My time at a publishing house and at an agency has allowed me to provide a full service to my clients from an artistic and commercial perspective. I’ve also sold foreign rights and worked in both NY and London, so my international support is substantial.

Do you choose books with head or heart?
Heart first, then head.

Which book or character has stayed with you since childhood?
Too many to count.  Everyone from Anne of Green Gables to Flat Stanley.  How do you choose just one?

Which house would the sorting hat put you in?
All four at different times. A great agent switches hats depending on what their client needs at the time.

How to submit to you: via email at angharad@kowalstannusagency.com

Submission tips:  Please send me a paragraph about the book, a paragraph about you, and the whole manuscript. I hate having to stop reading and request more if I’m loving something.

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
