BLOG BREAK It's All About the Journey

Nick Cross presents his fortnightly selection of must-read blogs.

New Year is a classic time for reviewing and reflecting, so this week's blog posts are focused on various stages of the writer's journey.

Cathy Bee has just signed with an agent after five years of picture book writing. Her post discusses her journey so far, and how writing is a marathon, not a sprint.

Meredith Vigh has had an agent for a year, but hasn't yet cracked that elusive publishing contract. Her blog post is an illuminating peek inside the submissions process.

Rashmi Sirdeshpande recently announced a two-book deal with Puffin. Hooray! Her blog post looks at the editing process and provides 5 Reasons Why Editors Are AMAZING.

Vanessa Harbour saw her debut novel Flight published in summer 2018. Her blog post looks back on a great year.

Kelly McCaughrain also had a debut out in 2018, but she's written a blog that's useful at any stage in the writer's journey. Kelly brings 20 years of experience to bear on the task of finding the perfect critique group to suit you.

No comments:

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
