CELEBRATIONS June 2023

The sun has certainly been shining on our SCBWI members this month as there's a huge round-up of things to celebrate. From competition listings to agent signings to story publications, exciting things have been happening...

Congratulations to Susan Brownrigg who has been awarded a Society of Authors Work In Progress Grant. The grant will allow Susan time to research and write her historical middle-grade novel (for 8-12s) about the early steam locomotive, Rocket, the Rainhill Trials and the opening of the Liverpool and Manchester railway.

If you enjoy reading Paperbound Magazine then look out for Arden Jones's YA short story, The Storm, in the upcoming June 2023 edition. When seventeen-year-old Jeanne survives a devastating ice storm, she has to find ways to stay alive. But then she discovers a hybrid dragon bronze statue and realises that there’s more to life than just one physical human form. We're really looking forward to reading it. Congratulations Arden!

No comments:

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
