EVENTS All About Character
At the heart of any good story are strong characters. So if yours are in need of some TLC, come along to a workshop in Cardiff – all about character creation and development.
The first SCBWI Wales writing workshop of the year will run in Cardiff on 10th March 2018, hosted by experienced novelist and scriptwriter David Thorpe. 'From Character to Story' will be held in The Urdd Centre in Cardiff Bay (just beside the Millennium Centre).
After David's excellent workshop on structure last year, he's now going to take us through our paces on charactersays Wales Network Coordinator Zoë Thomas.
David explains:
All stories begin with characters. As well as looking at character design, the shadow self, inner and outer conflict, we'll also consider publishing trends and the emphasis on psychology and deep emotion.Bring a pen, paper, some characters, and your imagination. SCBWI Wales will provide the creative sustenance: tea, coffee, and biscuits.
Everyone's welcome!
Time: 10 am–2 pm
Price: £25 for members and £30 for non-members

We love comments and really appreciate the time it takes to leave one.
Interesting and pithy reactions to a post are brilliant but we also LOVE it when people just say they've read and enjoyed.
We've made it easy to comment by losing the 'are you human?' test, which means we get a lot of spam. Fortunately, Blogger recognises these, so most, if not all, anonymous comments are deleted without reading.
